Good afternoon all you lovely folk!
Guyana is good as ever!! It’s been a pretty weird week though
So Wednesday my companion Elder Andrews had to get his widsom tooth taken out. So we went to the dentist at like 9 in the morning and didn’t get back till two or so. Then we didn’t do anything the rest of the day. The miracle though was that he was fine the next morning and we’ve been able to really get to work! While at the dentist though I was able to read all the war chapters in the book of Alma in the Book of Mormon. It was cool to read it all at once and see everything all at once. I came away from it knowing that who the Lord call he qualifies. The Lord chose men to lead his people, and these men he made might. He can do the same with us! If you don’t believe me, look up Ether 12:27 🙂
We went and moved more sand for a lady! It rained a lot earlier this week (this is an important detail for later on in the email) and so we were able to move a bunch of sand onto her yard. The good part was we got more coconuts! Coconut water is pretty good. It was nice and sweet and delicious.
So you know that scene in Napoleon Dynamite where he’s on Pedro’s bike and tries to go off the ramp but it doesn’t go so well for him? Well I was biking and I hit a speed bump that I didn’t see and it was pretty much like that haha
Elder Bigler left this week! He went to Berbice! President Baird is moving him around all over this transfer. He’s getting the Kobe farewell tour. Before he left though we were biking home one night. We taught a member who lived a good 40 minutes away. So as we were coming back my legs were burning. But I sped up trying to catch up to Elder Bigler, and started taunting him. Well, karma hit me. Or i hit it. Like I said earlier it rained a lot earlier the week so the ground was nice and muddy. My tire sank into a bunch of mud that was right in front of a speed bump. I hit the speed bump and proceeded to do a nice little front flip…and land in a bunch of mud. So here i was. Muddy, bloody, no clue what just happened, ripped pants, and a slight headache. But i was laughing. I thought it was so funny, and I learned to be humble. even in the middle of our struggles, we can find joy and how the Lord is teaching us. Thankfully I’m okay! I sewed my pants up this morning, my arms is scratched up good but it’s fine. really, I’m lucky with how hard i hit the speed bump ad everything to be okay like i am. The lord really watches out for those who love him and serve him 🙂 MOM!!! Don’t worry, I’m okay 🙂
We were teaching an older man and he said something that really stood out to me. He said it’s by faith that we move. That’s so true! Faith moves us physically and spiritually. Put all your trust in Him. People come and go, but he’s always there, and you really need to trust that. This week I ran into a cow, hit multiple speed bumps, got called white boy over and over, but I know Jesus Christ lives. So because of that, nothing else matters 🙂 I love you all! As my sister Bekah said many times, go and bless a life today!
