Hello everyone! This has been another beautiful week in Guyana! It’s both rained and bee extremely sunny every day! That’s how it goes I guess!
Monday we had a zone activity! We played basketball and soccer and Frisbee and stuff like that. I basically played basketball for 2 hours. It was heavenly. I miss basketball so much…After that though we went up to a village named Cummings Lodge. It’s about a 40 minute bike ride to get there. After our lesson, we realized that my tire was flat! So we walked for like 2 hours to get home. It was pretty great! That happened 2 other times this week too. So I did a lot of walking this week!
We were biking home from Amanda’s house when my bike got stuck in a mud puddle and so I had to push myself out. My shoes were completely soaked in mud. Guyana is SO GREAT haha. It’s all good though cause they cleaned right up!
I saw a guy wearing a BYU shirt! We were contacting, and this dude rides by on a bike with a BYU shirt on! I was about to say hi to him but I was left in complete shock. I have no idea if he knew what BYU was but still. Pretty funny.
Friday we had another activity with the young men! We played cricket again! That was fun! I’m slowly getting better at it and learning how to play it haha. The Young Men’s president kept calling me white boy. So we played basketball after it and I crossed him up pretty good. He didn’t call me white boy again that night 🙂 We’ve been doing a lot of contacting this week though and the sun is super hot. So I’m getting really tan. We have hot showers here but I always take cold showers because I’m always sunburned so hot showers hurt haha. By the time I go home I’ll be as dark as the people here!
Well that’s pretty much been my week! It’s week 6 so after this week I will have successfully completed my first transfer! The biggest thing I’ve learned so far is that God is perfectly aware of each and every one of us and he loves us all deeply. We can’t comprehend His love for us. If you can’t feel it, it’s not something wrong with his love. It’s something wrong with you. Tonight kneel down and ask God if he loves you. If you don’t feel his love, then ask Him what you need to do in order to feel it. I promise you he’ll answer you and that you will feel his infinite love for you. Have a great week!!!
