What’s good y’all!! This has been another glorious week in Guyana

It started busy and ended busy. We had district meeting Tuesday, and it was absolute POURING RAIN. I was absolutely soaked. It was super fun though. I may or may not have splashed in a few of the less muddy puddles…but after district meeting I went on an exchange with Elder McMillan! He’s from South Jordan I think. It was a lot of fun! He has a Guyanese companion also, so it was a nice little break for him and I both haha. He saved up some money and so while I was with him we got fat together. We had cake and waffles and some other guyanese pastries that I can’t remember the name of but ate and it was so dang good holy crap. We then played basketball in the morning which was so blessed
The next day though I saw the craziest storm of my life!!!!!! It was incredible. The rain was pounding down SO HARD. There was lightning everywhere and thunder that literally shook the apartment. I felt it in my bones. It was incredible. I love the storms here. Later that day though the teaching assistants came and had a teaching visit with us! So because the mission is spread out over 6 countries, President Baird has teaching assistants in all countries. He technically can only have 2 assistants, but he has teaching assistants in all other countries. They come once a transfer to each companionship and basically do an exchange with them. We split off, one member of the companionship and one teaching assistant, and each teach three lessons, and then come back and review them. It was a good time! I was with Elder Allen! He’s awesome and we had a really good time. That night though after they left I put my helmet on so we could go see someone else, and I felt something in my helmet. I took it off and lo and behold there was a big ole cockroach in my helmet! I may or may not have panicked and somewhat screamed like a girl.
I got trenched this week! There are trenches everywhere here and we went to a less active member’s house and I didn’t see a trench and stepped in it. It was freaking nasty. My foot was soaking wet the entire time. I then went and played cricket afterwards which was a good time, except my foot was nasty.
Transfer calls came! Elder Andrews and I are spending another transfer on the East Coast together! We cover from the village of Cummings Lodge to Mahaica. So we cover a ton of area. It’s fun. We bike a lot. We don’t go down to Mahaica though. We only go as far as Enmore…anyways! So yeah we’re staying here.
I had a cool experience this week. I’ve been feeling really homesick, which is hard. I was reading about the woman with the blood problem in the New Testament who touched the Savior’s robe and was healed. There was a quote by an apostle that really stood out to me. It said, “The crowd came to see. The woman came to be healed.” When I went to church Sunday I came with a truly broken heart like the scriptures say and a contrite spirit. I came to be healed. I can testify that when we come to the Savior to be healed, no matter what has been troubling us, we can and will be healed. I was healed on Sunday. The Savior loves us so much. We were teaching someone this week and they said, If he didn’t love us, He wouldn’t have died for us.” If the Savior didn’t love us, He wouldn’t have died for us. He suffered imaginable pain and anguish-for you. And for you specifically. During that dark night in Gethsemane, your pain, your sins, and your struggles were borne by someone greater than us all. Let us always remember Him in all we do. Let us always come to Him to be healed. I love you all! I know Jesus Christ is the savior and redeemer of the world.
